If you’re going to the Bicol region, most especially Legazpi City, Albay, you should not miss the majestic Mayon Volcano. The volcano is famous for its perfect cone. Actually, you can see Mayon wherever you are in Albay. Last month, we were in Legazpi City and the moment we went down the airplane, the Mayon Volcano can already be seen. We arrived at 7:30 in the morning and at that time, it was too cloudy so only half of the volcano was in sight.
The very next day, we were able to see the beautiful Mayon Volcano with its perfect cone when we went to Lignon Hill. The alert level last November was at level 2 and only white smokes were being seen on its crater. Now, unfortunately, Mayon Volcano is on the verge of erupting. Living around the area will be hard (again) for them. As of this moment, it is not advisable to go near the volcano (if you’re planning for trekking adventures, etc).
